GCE NODE is an industry-driven cluster for ocean technologies. Based in Southern Norway, GCE NODE comprises of over 125 companies, most of which constitute a world-leading value chain of suppliers to the oil & gas, offshore, energy and maritime industries.
Cluster participants include international drilling majors, such as NOV, HMH and SLB, in addition to leaders within offshore cranes, loading, and mooring, such as APL-NOV, MacGregor and Nekkar, as well as large mechanical manufacturing companies and yard as NYMO, GOT and UMOE and renewable energy producers, such as Å Energi, Arendals Fossekompani, Greenstat and Equinor. All are supported by engineering, ICT solutions, logistics and business services necessary to succeed in a global context.
In GCE NODE, companies participate in research, development and innovation projects which explore common issues that need resolve.
The cluster is dedicated to increasing and facilitating world-class competency by offering insight into market developments, new industry opportunities and transfer of technology from the oil & gas sector to offshore renewables and other emerging markets and industries.
GCE NODE cooperates with a wide range of research and academic institutions, national and international clusters, trade organizations, funding agencies as well as local, regional, and national government bodies and officials.
GCE NODE has a lean and highly competent cluster administration which was awarded the Gold Label for Cluster Management Excellence for the first time in 2015. The Gold Label has since been renewed after thorough examinations in both 2018 and 2021.
GCE NODE was one of the two first Norwegian business clusters promoted to a Global Center of Expertise.
GCE NODE is comprised of 127 companies in the Southern part of Norway.
GCE NODE is among the top 10 percent of European gold labeled clusters.
