10 November | 10:15 - 15:00 | Kristiansand | Open for all

An increasing number of platforms will be retired in the near future thereby creating a need for harbor facilities equipped for decommissioning activities.

Decommissioning includes removal and transport to suitable port facilities and thereafter dismantling, recycling and disposing of the waste. Many companies in the Agder-region have technology that can be utilized for this. New market opportunities related to the increase in decommissioning projects will be presented and discussed at the workshop in Kristiansand on November 10th.

Several port authorities have expressed interest in developing facilities within their region suitable for decommissioning activities. Port director Halvard Aglen in Kristiansand and port director Rune Hvass in Arendal will be attending the workshop.

GCE NODE has commissioned a report on the decommissioning market and opportunities. Mads Grinrød who has prepared the behalf of NODE will present the results. Afterwards leading experts will present their insights into this growing market. Presentations will include ongoing activities in the UK North Sea sector.
