- Ocean Energy Conference (OEC) – 6th of October
OEC will take place the 6th of October. It is part of the third edition of World Maritime Week, a biennial event at Bilbao Exhibition Centre that gathers the naval, fishing, port and offshore energy sectors (5th to 7th of October).
OEC is a congress on ocean energy that will feature a complete program of international conferences, B2B meetings, networking and an exhibition area. The OEC conference will take place entirely on Wednesday, October 6th (although the pass allows access to the other four WMW congresses: Sinaval, Futureport, Eurofishing, Oil&Gas Conference) and is structured around three sessions:
- S1: Strategies to Support Ocean Energy Deployment
- S2: How to Finance an Emerging sector
- S3: Harnessing Wave Energy
Among others, the event will feature speakers from the European Commission, international converter developers or Ocean Energy Europe. You may find more details about the agenda in this link.
The event has a cost of € 200 per person. Although this price increases to € 350 on September 15th, the original price will remain the same for ELBE companies until September 30th (deadline for online registration). For this you will have to use this preferential link.

- B2B meetings – 6th and 7th of October
Enterprise Europe Network organizes International B2B Meetings as part of the OEC 2021 on the 6th and 7th of October.
Institutional representatives, companies, start-ups, associations, universities and research institutes related to oceanic renewable energies and all auxiliary sectors that offer or seek innovative solutions, new collaborations and partners for projects, will have the opportunity to discuss ideas in pre-arranged meetings of up to 30 minutes on site and online.
OEC will take place in person at the BEC, but the B2B Meetings will take place as a hybrid event, in person at the Bilbao Exhibition Centre and virtually. The cost of participation in the B2B meetings is free, but in-person participants must register for OEC and pay the registration fee.

- Atlantic Arc Workshop and site visit to BiMEP – 7th of October
On Thursday 7th of October, the Basque Energy Agency, as coordinator of the Atlantic Arc Strategy Pillar 3: Marine Renewable Energy invites all attendants to a workshop (10:00-12:00, Bilbao Exhibition Centre) that will focus on wave energy development challenges. At 13:00, a site visit to BiMEP test site will be organized for all attending entities. Expected time of arrival back to Bilbao is 17:00.
The ELBE Alliance gathers seven leading European clusters in Blue Energy. It aims to contribute positioning Europe as the world technological and industrial leader in Blue Energy by supporting internationalisation of European SMEs and other relevant stakeholders, with a focus in North America (US, Canada) and Asia (Japan, Korea, Taiwan).
