The FAMOS project team invites you to register your interest in participating in a Research and Innovation (R&I) workshop dedicated to the future of innovative maritime technologies.
The workshop will take place on May 27, 2026, at the University of Agder campus in Grimstad.
It starts at 12:30 with a joint lunch, followed by an interactive workshop session running until 16:00.
This event aims to bring together representatives from business, academia, public administration, and the innovation sector to collaboratively explore solutions that can shape the region’s economic and technological future. A key focus of the workshop is the stakeholder perspective—your insights and experience are essential for designing technologies that are not only innovative, but also socially meaningful, locally relevant, and widely accepted.
The workshop will center on the concept of large-scale, multifunctional floating structures located approximately 30–60 km offshore. These structures could serve multiple purposes, including renewable energy production, water desalination, scientific research, and industrial activities, contributing to both environmental sustainability and regional development within the Blue Economy framework.
VR and creative co-design tools will be used to support this process. Participants will have the opportunity to “visit” and experience potential future infrastructures, helping to explore applications, opportunities, limitations, and environmental and societal impacts in an engaging and interactive way.
More details will be provided after sign up for the event.
