Join us for an African Market Update webinar, presented in collaboration with Rystad Energy

This exclusive event offers a comprehensive overview of the energy sector in Africa, focusing on both Renewables (Solar and Hydropower) and the Oil & Gas industry.

During the webinar, Rystad Energy and NORWEP will provide valuable insights into the latest trends, opportunities, and challenges within Africa’s energy market such as Egypt, Mauritania, Morocco, Senegal, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Nigeria, Congo, Angola, Namibia, South Africa, Mozambique, Tanzania and Kenya.

Whether you’re interested in exploring the growing potential of renewable energy sources or uncovering investment opportunities in the oil and gas sector, this webinar is tailored to meet your informational needs.

Across the African continent the demand for energy is rapidly growing. Today the modern energy use per capita remains among the lowest in the world despite that the continent has a rich potential for different energy resources like solar power, hydropower and oil and gas. Per today Africa accounts for just 6% of global energy use and less than 3% of global energy-related carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions.

It is assumed that Renewable energy is expected to account for 65% of installed capacity in Africa by 2035 and 95% by 2050. Solar and wind power will grow faster than hydropower, with 70% of capacity sourced from solar, 20% from wind, and 10% from hydropower by 2050. However, it will be a high demand for the Oil & Gas production in the years to come.

The webinar will therefore highlight the Energy mix and Energy Transition/Addition for the African continent.
