The Technical Committee for ONS 2020 in Stavanger has identified 21 challenges for the ONS Technical Sessions, divided into five main categories.

The ONS Technical Sessions is the leading arena for technologists to share information, highlight innovation and gain competitive advantage through new solutions. Be part of the largest gathering of R&D stakeholders in the industry and get access to the engineers that are shaping the future.

The Technical Committee – a selection of the energy industry’s best and brightest – have used their aggregated experience to identify bottlenecks and unsolved challenges through, not only the entire value chain in the North Sea region, but also internationally.

The Technical Committee has identified 21 challenges for the ONS 2020 sessions, divided into five main categories:

  • Digital solutions and security
  • Production optimalization & low emission upstream solutions
  • Drilling and downhole + G&G
  • Subsea technology
  • Brownfield and greenfield solutions

Each of the categories consist of specific challenges the committee would like receive solutions for. Application closes February 3.

ONS invites all innovative companies/individuals/organizations to submit their solutions to the committee.

The submitted material will be used to set up the Technical Sessions program – and the companies behind the selected material are invited to present their technology/solution at the Technical Sessions. In 2018, the Technical Sessions program consisted of 185 speakers presenting from 5 stages in 25 sessions. ONS received applications from more than 300 companies and about 2200 delegates attended the sessions.

WHY ATTEND THE TECHNICAL SESSIONS?
Delegates of Technical Sessions will learn about the challenges, how far the industry has come in solving them, thus enabling them to see if and where their own product or idea fits in – and meet the key market players at the same arena.

In addition, ONS wants to inspire the delegates so that they travel home with new knowledge they can use in their own companies. Technical Sessions is also a networking arena giving technologists the opportunity to connect, learn from eachother and exchange experiences.
