These are the logos of the 27 companies that were accepted as GCE NODE participants in 2017.

“A new record for GCE NODE! We have never seen higher interest for participating in the cluster,” says Anne-Grete Ellingsen.

DNB, TTS Group and Aker Solutions are among the new cluster participants approved by the board of GCE NODE in 2017, raising the total number of participants to a record-breaking 93.

“The influx of new companies illustrates that value of participating in a cluster that not only promotes the oil and gas industry, but also explores how existing competence and technology can be transferred to new markets,” says Ellingsen, CEO of GCE NODE.

Norway’s largest bank, DNB, is among the newest companies accepted into the cluster.

“DNB has a strong position as a financial and competence partner for ocean industries, such as oil and gas, shipping and seafood. We are excited to join NODE to strengthen our relation to the business sector in Agder. We are thrilled to learn more about NODE’s work within digitalization, which is – of course – also greatly influencing our industry,“ says Katrine Trovik, Head of Division Corporate Banking Sør- og Vestlandet.

As a former executive at National Oilwell Varco Norway, Mette Harv knows GCE NODE well. In her new position as Executive Vice President at TTS Energy, she initiated a process to have TTS Group join the cluster.

“TTS is developing new products, also for new markets, based on oil service expertise in southern Norway. We believe that a close cooperation with other companies in the region, and participation in NODE projects and events, increase our chance to succeed,” says Harv.

A portion of newcomers in 2017 are start-ups and early phase companies. Telaris, an information technology company from Kristiansand, is one of them.

“As a small company, we often find strength in close relations with other companies. So, the idea of working in a network is a familiar idea,” says co-founder Øyvind Selbek at Telaris.
