Air Products will supply nitrogen membrane packages to a floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) facility to be built in South Korea.

An agreement is made with TP JGC Coral France, a joint venture between Technip France and JGC Corporation Japan, for the supply of the medium and high purity membrane nitrogen package built at Samsung Heavy Industries.

The Coral FNLG project is located in the deep waters of the Rovuma Basin and straddles Mozambique’s Northern border with Tanzania, approximately 250 kilometers North East of Pemba and 50 kilometers from the coastline.

The contract with TP JGC Coral France is similar to other major contracts recently delivered from Air Products, like Prelude FLNG, Ichthys FPSO and Ichthys CPF.

In support for the LNG industry, Air Products provides process technology and key equipment for the natural gas liquefaction process. Upstream, Air Products provides both nitrogen and natural gas dehydration membrane systems. Downstream, Air Products provides membrane nitrogen generators for LNG carriers, and land-based membrane nitrogen systems for LNG import terminals and base-load LNG plants.

“This is yet another confirmation on Air Products capabilities and world-class position in high performance systems for the marine and offshore market. It builds on years of experience from other similar complex projects, and fits well in the Air Products leading LNG technology portfolio,” says Hallgeir Angel, Technical Sales Manager, Engineered Nitrogen Systems at Air Products.
