CEO of GCE NODE, Høye Høyesen, attended a meeting with the political leadership of Kristiansand Thursday morning.

GCE NODE addressed floating wind, offshore aquaculture and subsea mining at a meeting with the Mayor of Kristiansand Thursday morning.

Mayor Jan Oddvar Skisland, Deputy Mayor Erik Rostoft and Head of Business Region Kristiansand Geir Haugum organized the digital meeting with top industry leaders in the Kristiansand region.

Part of a continuous series of meetings between the political and business side of the municipality, the meeting provided valuable input for policy makers.

“We appreciate the initiative and are happy to contribute with updated information about the supplier industry in Agder,” says Høye Høyesen, CEO of GCE NODE.

He addressed three key issues for GCE NODE, all of which are expected to be part of the third governmental Covid-19 relief package scheduled to be announced Friday.

  • A pre-study for offshore wind. GCE NODE has strongly advocated a substantial effort to accelerate the development of floating wind power generation.
  • Issuing of more development licenses for offshore fish farms.
  • Governmental support for subsea mining.

«We also encourage all efforts to push operators on the Norwegian Continental Shelf to do upgrades and maintenance work to keep business going. Without any new orders, the second half of 2020 could prove more challenging than the first,” says Høyesen.
