“We are still in the stone age with this. Digitalization will continue to transform everything,” said Beck, who talked at Global Outlook 2017 in Arendal Monday.
Beck is Director for Research at the Copenhagen Institute for Futures Studies, known for mapping important trends for markets, societies and businesses.
Beck said there are three kinds of personal attitudes towards the past, present and future.
Some people are oriented towards the past and view the future as being about loosing things – they want more of what they had.
Some people are oriented towards the present and view the future as something to difficult to imagine – they just want more of what they have today.
And some people are oriented towards the future and look forward to new products, new technology and new experiences – they want to co-create the future with you.
“The number of people oriented towards the present is decreasing. The trend is an increase in people oriented towards the past and the future. This is something we need to take into account,” said Beck.
