Tom Fidjeland has led GCE NODE since 2020.

Tom Fidjeland takes over as Project Manager of Fremtidens Havvind following the appointment of Rune Klausen as CEO of the National Competence Center for Offshore Wind.

Fremtidens Havvind is a project funded by Agder County, Sørlandets Kompetansefond, Aust-Agder Utviklings- og kompetansefond and Kristiansand, Lindesnes, Lyngdal and Farsund municipalities to coordinate regional offshore wind efforts. Since 2020, Fremtidens Havvind has worked to establish an industry center and an operational center for offshore wind in the Agder region. A third goal, the creation and funding of a national competence center, is already achieved.

As of 1 March, Rune Klausen left his position as Project Manager of Fremtidens Havvind to start as CEO at the competence center, where he had been an interim CEO since the center’s inception in 2023. Also on 1 March, Sanne Jordan – Project Manager Offshore Wind at GCE NODE – joined the competence center.

“We are sad to see Rune and Sanne leave GCE NODE but thrilled to have them join the competence center. Rune has been instrumental in the build-up of Fremtidens Havvind and Sanne has been a valued member of the offshore wind team in our region. Going forward, we are glad to see them continue as important resources on a national level,” says Fidjeland.

He will take on the role as Project Manager of Fremtidens Havvind, in addition to serving as CEO of GCE NODE.

“Fremtidens Havvind has achieved one of its primary goals and has laid the foundation for achieving its other goals as well. We will continue to build the offshore wind industry in our region, and we look forward to a close relationship with the national competence center in doing so,” says Fidjeland.
