Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre at Nekkar in Kristiansand.

Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre came to Kristiansand to learn how technology from oil and gas transfer into renewable industries.

While in Kristiansand, Støre visited GCE NODE participants Origo Solutions and Nekkar. Both companies presented their competence and technology and explained how they utilize this to complete successful projects, deliveries and innovations into industries such as offshore and onshore wind, and aquaculture.

Later, Støre met with more companies from Agder, including MacGregor, Nymo, Umoe Mandal, Agder Energi, Global Ocean Technology, 3B, Port of Kristiansand, Business Region Kristiansand and Listerregionen.

According to Støre, the Norwegian government is soon to announce greater ambitions for the utilization of Norwegian wind resources. The government has received criticism, recently from the leading Norwegian business cluster GCE NODE, GCE Ocean Technology and Energy Valley for dragging their feet on this matter.
