EXPO 2020 in Dubai starts at October 20, 2020 and lasts for six months. The purpose of world expositions is to promote international relations through uniting countries from around the world. Countries and companies come together to exchange ideas, showcase innovations and experience in business, education, research and technology.
Norway has chosen the ocean as focus for the country’s participation.
“Norway has large and important ocean industries, such as oil and gas, seafood and maritime sector. The government’s goal is for Norway to be a leading ocean nation. We therefore need to take an international leadership role on important ocean issues and be at the arenas where solutions to the world’s challenges are discussed. Expo 2020 will be such an arena,” says Mr. Torbjørn Røe Isaksen, the Norwegian Minister of Trade and Industry.
The organizers expect approximately 25 million visitors, of which 30 percent from the UAE and 70 percent from other parts of the world.
“Our goal is to strengthen Norway’s position as a world-leading ocean nation,” said Dag Olav Koppervik, Deputy Commissioner General and Project Director. He took meetings with interested companies in the Agder region. Partnership opportunities start at NOK 100,000.
