The Minister and Deputy Minister of the Norwegian Ministry of Petroleum and Energy visited GCE NODE companies Norsafe and Norac in Arendal Tuesday.

«The competence and technology showcased by the supplier industry never ceases to amaze me,” says Terje Søviknes, Minister of Petroleum and Energy. He took a few hours out of a busy schedule to get to know Norsafe and Norac, their products and their global market outlook.

“It is a standing order for representatives of this government, to visit local businesses wherever we travel. Today, I got to know a part of the industry that was new to me. It is always useful to feel the pulse of the business sector and lend an ear to the CEOs that have a personal and up-close feel for the politics that form their business landscape,” says Søviknes.

As a former fisherman, Søviknes was impressed by boat builder Norsafe. Along with Deputy Minister Ingvil Smines Tybring-Gjedde, Søviknes was picked up at Arendal Harbor in Norsafe’s Munin S1200 Open, a high-speed vessel designed for military and professional purposes. It took them to Norsafe’s headquarters in no-time, barely touching the water at 60 knots per hour.

The experience of having a Minister come visit, was not new for Norsafe. Several ministers have come to see the world-leading lifeboats that is the trademark of Norsafe’s.

“We are always glad to showcase our company to politicians, both at the local and national level. It is nice to be able to give the Minister an understanding of what we do and what is important for Norsafe. We always appreciate people who take time to get to know us,” says Frode Grøvan, SVP Sales and Marketing at Norsafe.
