27 participants from 24 companies attended a meeting of the FPSO Forum established by GCE NODE.

“This is above and beyond what we expected. It documents a positive and growing market,” says Bjørn Saltermark, Project Manager at GCE NODE.

With an aim to strengthen collaboration and knowledge-sharing within the Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) sector, the forum was created in response to industry input.

The meeting this week saw double the attendance compared to previous gatherings, signaling renewed market momentum. Participants included suppliers of equipment, electrical systems, management services, and more – many already working with BW Offshore and other builders of FPSOs.

Key presentations included Bjørn Jensen, CEO of Nedig, Sjur E. Bratland from NORWEP, who provided a market update, Hans Høegh-Omdal at BW Offshore, and Tord Broms Thorsen from Sevan Deepwater Technology.

BW Offshore expressed optimism about future projects and emphasized the need for skilled partners. According to NORWEP, 70 FPSOs will be awarded between 2024 and 2030, predominantly in South America, Africa and South-East Asia.

Going forward, the FPSO Forum will convene three times per year, preferably hosted by participating companies. The Forum lays a foundation for future collaboration and strategic positioning in a growing market.
