The course was led by Espen Krogh, CEO of IC Technology. He brought extensive experience from large-scale OPC UA implementations and years of teaching at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology.
OPC UA (Open Platform Communications Unified Architecture) is a vendor-neutral communication protocol widely used in industrial automation, and a key component of Industry 4.0. It enables secure and reliable data exchange between hardware and software systems, regardless of manufacturer.
Krogh offered participants a strong foundation in both theory and practical applications. Topics included OPC UA architecture, protocols, security, use cases, and implementation strategies.
“The event highlighted the growing relevance of OPC UA and provided valuable tools for getting started. Feedback from participants is overwhelmingly positive,” says Jan Helge Viste, Transition Manager at GCE NODE.
He extends thanks to Å Energi / Glitre for their initiative to put this course on the agenda.
