Compressor demonstration at Otechos in Tvedestrand to conclude the GCE NODE breakfast meeting.

In an environment that has birthed 52 companies, serial entrepreneur Tor Arne Hauge welcomed GCE NODE participants to a breakfast meeting at the Otechos headquarters in Tvedestrand.

Entrepreneurship is at the heart of Hauge and Otechos. Spinoffs are plentiful and successful from the serial entrepreneur east in Agder. One spinoff, Green Transition Holding, is listed at the OTC marketplace in Oslo and valued at more than NOK 500 million.

Established in 2012, Otechos brands itself as a world-class provider of process technology with proven technology and a strong track-record.

“Our mission is to become the market leader within energy efficient technology for industrial applications, being the natural choice for manufacturers seeking green environmental solutions,” says Hauge.

Its two largest products are pumps and compressors. The Wet Gas Compressor holds a groundbreaking compressor technology, offering a lubricant free process, no valves and energy efficiency. The compressor is funded and supported by Innovation Norway and EU Horizon 2020.

“Compressors of all types represent about 17 percent of energy use in developed countries. Reducing the energy needed for compressors to operate is highly important, and our solution offers 65 percent reduction,” says Hauge.

At the breakfast meeting Preben Aakermann, Senior Client Executive at Export Finance Norway (Eksfin), gave a presentation of how Norwegian small and medium-sized companies can receive financial support when entering the international market.

Eksfin is a governmental financial enterprise established in 2021 through the merger of the Norwegian Export Credit Guarantee Agency (GIEK) and Export Credit Norway. Its mission is to ensure that Norwegian export industries are financially competitive abroad. Eksfin falls under the Norwegian Ministry of Trade, Industry and Fisheries.
