• Being closely connected to the companies that constitute the cluster.
• Being concerned with what the companies are concerned with.
• Spending time on the matters that matter most for the companies.
These are some key principles that GCE NODE strongly believes in.
Having expanded its field of interest during the first half of this decade, the cluster will be more focused on fewer industry verticals going forward. Based on which industries are most relevant for our companies, oil & gas, maritime, offshore wind, hydrogen, and aquaculture will be the core industries for GCE NODE.
World-class engineering of offshore installations is at the heart of GCE NODE and the region we serve. Having spent decades developing state-of-the-art equipment for the oil & gas and maritime industries our highly skilled engineers and their organizations continue to serve these industries while transferring knowledge and expertise to new markets, such as offshore wind, hydrogen, and aquaculture.
Driven by research, development and innovation we are thrilled to see companies succeed in new industries and new markets. Last year, Norwegian exports to the global offshore wind industry amounted to a staggering NOK 44 billion. Companies in our region and in our cluster played important roles in several milestone projects.
GCE NODE will continue to support research, development and innovation initiatives and efforts within the cluster. We eagerly await the arrival of our new RD&I Manager, Stephen Sayfritz, who brings extensive experience from several industries. Sayfritz will assume his position at GCE NODE no later than 1 September.
We have taken an initiative to explore strengthening cooperation with our sister cluster – Eyde Cluster. Although we are serving different industries, there are many common denominators and a common goal: To secure and create more jobs in our region.
Thank you for being a participant and supporter of GCE NODE! We are eager to hear your thoughts about GCE NODE and the performance of the cluster administration. Help us remain attractive and relevant!
With warm wishes for a great summer
