Building on a new strategy, GCE NODE aims to serve as a vibrant, relevant, and valuable cluster for the development of the region’s supplier industry – and the region itself.

Knut Mjåland, CEO of GCE NODE

The GCE NODE Board of Directors recently approved a strategy for 2025 to 2030. The strategy is built on an understanding that the world – in the short term – is facing an energy addition more than an energy transition.

For at least the next few years, rising global demand for energy will be met by increased production of oil, gas and electricity.

This understanding is echoed by our 120 cluster companies. They expect growth from both of the two largest segments in which they operate: oil & gas and renewables.

Established in 2006, GCE NODE was dominated by suppliers to the oil & gas industry. For the last decade, the cluster has assisted the industry in its quest to diversify. Continuous change has been adopted as the new normal. This is how we became market leaders in the first place, and this is why we are still competitive. We have seized opportunities to find new markets for our competence and technology through digitalization, in offshore wind, and in hydrogen – to name the most significant ones.

Faced with new challenges and opportunities, our response will again be to change.

On 2 January, I will assume the position of CEO at GCE NODE. I am proud and grateful to be trusted with this responsibility.
I look forward to getting to know the GCE NODE companies better. The cluster is here to understand the challenges the companies are facing and learn how we can help.

Entering a new phase for the cluster, which is ambitiously dubbed GCE NODE 5.0, we will build on, adjust, and fine-tune the existing cluster and its activities, that has increased value creation in our region for almost two decades.

Please do not hesitate to reach out and give us your opinion on how we can be of service to you and your company. We appreciate any input that can add value to the cluster, the participating companies, and the region.
