The National Competence Center for Offshore Wind, initiated by GCE NODE and Kristiansand Municipality, has filled four positions.

“Interest in the competence center has been tremendous! We received 160 applications for the four vacant positions, which means we had loads of talent to choose from. We are thrilled to have recruited a strong initial team. Together we will continue to build the National Competence Center for Offshore Wind,” says Rune Klausen, interim CEO.

Kjell Eirik Haavold takes on the responsibility as Head of Legal. Haavold holds a Master’s degree in law from the
University of Oslo. He is currently a senior tax lawyer at The Norwegian Tax Administration and the former chairperson of The Port of Kristiansand.

Grethe Frislie will serve as Project Manager responsible for developing the Knowledge Bank – a key feature of the Competence Center. At present, Frislie is Project Manager Sustainability at Origo Solutions. She brings experience from The Norwegian Communications Authority and the University of Agder.

Halvard Ranestad Pedersen is the newly appointed Environmental and Sustainability Officer. He holds a Cand. Scient degree in natural sciences from the Norwegian University of Life Sciences. He comes from the position of Senior Adviser at the Norwegian Nature Inspectorate.

Marthe Michelsen takes on the role as Communications Manager. Michelsen holds a Master’s degree in social communication from the University of Agder. She is currently responsible for content and customer communication at Mer Norway, and a former content marketer and web editor at Noroff Education.

The four newcomers join Marie Sunnarvik Midtbø, who in October was hired as Finance Manager of the National Competence Center for Offshore Wind. Part-time resources include GCE NODE staff Sanne Jordan and Ida Andersen.
