National Oilwell Varco in Kristiansand and Tratec Halvorsen in Kvinesdal are among the suppliers to the Hod field on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.

NOV is to deliver a platform crane for Hod, whereas Tratec Halvorsen contributes with tanks and filters.

“We are pleased to take part in this project. Like so many others, we are experiencing a challenging market, and as for all ongoing projects, the HOD platform crane is also important for developing and maintaining our competencies,” says Rune Johnsen, CEO of National Oilwell Varco Norway.

Aker BP has signed more than 100 contracts with Norwegian suppliers for the development and construction of the Hod field.

Hod was initiated as a result of the governmental stimulus package following the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic. Hod is the first in a series of development projects to be realized by this package.

75 per cent of all Hod contracts have been awarded to Norwegian suppliers from a total of nine Norwegian counties along the coast.

“This shows how the Hod project creates values for the Norwegian society, for the industry and for our owners”, says Karl Johnny Hersvik, CEO of Aker BP.

Total investments are estimated at NOK 5.7 billion. The Hod field is scheduled to start production in the first quarter of 2022.
