The first autonomous ships could self-sail in a couple of years. How can GCE NODE companies contribute?

That is a question that could be answered at the Autonomous Ships Seminar in Grimstad May 15th.

The Norwegian Forum for Autonomous Ships will explain why Norway should be the leading nation on this subject, and DNV GL and Kongsberg Maritime will talk about control systems and safety issues. Additional presentations are given by Wärtsillä Ships Design, Telenor Maritime, Bamle Havn and Red Rock.

Completely or partially unmanned ships are expected to be an important part of future ship technology. However, development and use must also take into account the interests of society, organizations and individuals. Autonomous ships must be safe to use and safe from sabotage and hostile attacks.

Organizers of the event are The Norwegian Forum for Autonomous Ships, Maritimt Forum Sør, Sørlandets rederiforening and GCE NODE.
