Knut Mjåland has been appointed as CEO of GCE NODE.

Knut Mjåland, Managing Director at Mandals and former senior executive at HMH, has been appointed as CEO of GCE NODE.

“We are very pleased to present Knut Mjåland as the new Chief Executive Officer of GCE NODE. In addition to his extensive experience from the oil and gas industry, Mjåland has led Mandals while boosting sales and implementing practices for smarter and more sustainable production. He is a well-respected and well-liked person in our industry,” says Pål Skogerbø, Chairman of the Board of Directors at GCE NODE.

“I am excited to be given this opportunity. I view GCE NODE as a great catalyst for job creation and regional growth, which have always been on my agenda. The cluster is perfectly positioned to support the supplier industry in retaining its position within oil and gas, and to facilitate its transition to renewable energy,” says Mjåland.

Having been part of several GCE NODE strategy processes and having served on the cluster’s Board of Directors, Mjåland is familiar with the organization and many of the participating companies.

He brings extensive managerial experience from several positions within the global energy sector and high-tech materials/composites industry. He served 15 years as Senior Vice President at MHWirth (now HMH) and two years as General Manager at OPS Solutions before he joined Mandals in 2017. Owned by Michelin, Mandals is a world-leading producer of lay flat hoses.

For the last 25 years, Mjåland has also been elected to and served on the Board of Directors of several national and international companies.

Mjåland will assume his new position no later than 1 April 2025. He will replace Tom Fidjeland, who has served as CEO of GCE NODE since 2020.
